《Through the Years》不算是肯尼·罗杰斯(Kenny Rogers)的经典歌曲，不过从罗杰斯对于歌曲的处理来讲，算是一首耐听的歌曲。罗杰斯自身所特有的嗓音本来就是一个特别吸引人的因素，加上他唱的歌曲在旋律上和歌词上都算上乘，所以在他的歌曲集里没有败笔。
罗杰斯唱歌有个特点：叙事。他不是在用嗓子在唱，而是在用心与听众对话，在讲一个他自己经历的故事。无论歌词有多么“艺术”，但他总是在跟听众回忆什么平凡的旧事，而不是刻意把歌曲搞得很有“音乐感”。这也许也是许多音乐爱好者喜欢听他演唱的愿意之一。他所演唱的歌曲，在配器上也基本是钢琴走主线，弦乐走辅线，加上适当的低音贝斯和大鼓的配合，让歌曲充满了魅力。
